Mom,

On your 70th birthday, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Seventy is such a beautiful milestone — a reflection of the love, care, and wisdom you’ve shared with everyone around you.

Thank you for being the most incredible mom, for the opportunities you gave me, and for choosing to stay home with me in those early years. Your presence gave me the gift of security, knowing you would always be there.

I still remember playing in the little playhouse that Grandpa and Dad built. I think you had just as much fun in it as we did — maybe more. Those were such simple, happy times, and somehow, you still bring that same joy into every space you touch.

Thank you for being my Girl Scout leader. Your meticulous planning, creativity, and organization gave us such amazing experiences. You made everything special, from our meetings to our adventures.

Camping Memories

Some of my favorite memories are from our family camping trips in the motor home. I loved camping at Point Mugu Beach with my cousins and Auntie Pumpkin, studying sharks so we could tell the rangers what we learned.

And of course, our trips to the Sierras — so many great adventures through the mountains, especially in Sierra City with Tim, Donny, and Judy. I’ll never forget four-wheeling in the Jeep up and down those fire roads and even to the top of the Sierra Buttes with Dad. Those were the best days.

Grandma Time

Thank you for coming down to San Diego each time we had a new baby, helping us get settled and finding our rhythm. Those visits meant so much. Being a parent is full of big adjustments, and your calm support and love helped me so much.

A Beautiful Marriage

You and Dad set such a beautiful example of marriage. The love you shared through 34 years together was steady and true. You supported each other through challenges, celebrated each other’s victories, and most importantly, enjoyed life together every day.

When Dad got sick, your strength and care were inspiring. You were there for him every step of the way, and even in the hardest moments, you showed what love really looks like.

Tea Parties

I treasure our tea party traditions — discovering new spots and returning to our favorites like Rose Tree Cottage. You make the most beautiful tea parties at home, too, with your elegant table settings and lace doilies that somehow make everything feel timeless.

San Diego Trips

Thank you for all your visits to San Diego and for helping us get organized — the famous “Grandma Project” always in action! We love seeing you here, watching you relax at the beach, feeling the sun and waves. That’s when we see you at peace, and it makes us so happy.

Happy 70th birthday, Mom. You are loved beyond words. We look forward to celebrating many more years of memories with you. I am so proud to be your daughter.
